Thank you

To all who made the Commonwealth Mountain and Ultra Distance Championships such a huge success – volunteers, sponsors, the crowds of spectators but most of all the athletes who gave their all and created such a spellbinding event.

Opening CeremonyStartChimweno

So many personal bests were broken, and we gained a new Commonwealth Record with Australia’s Martin Fryer in the 24 hour race. This unique event brought together three separate disciplines - mountain races, the 100km road race and the 24-hour race – for the first time, and tested athletes to their limits of speed, endurance and mental strength.

In true Commonwealth spirit everyone supported each aspect of the event, and the end result was the most fantastic demonstration of what sport can truly achieve. Friends made, new links forged and memories to be cherished.
