Keswick is delighted to be hosting the Commonwealth Mountain and Ultra Running Championships this year and extends a warm welcome to both entrants and their families.

Keswick is a pretty little town nestled between Derwentwater and the surrounding fells. With a real hustle bustle feel and plenty of good pubs, hotels and shops, it’s a great base for the mountains as well as an attraction in its own right. Stay a while and take in our surroundings. Discover the delights of the many traditional Lakeland Villages in Keswick’s neighbouring valleys.

You don’t need a car; you can enjoy a day out on one of the area’s Rambler buses to Borrowdale, which has been called the loveliest valley in England, to the Newlands Valley which is surrounded by valley, ridge and fell walks, and to Buttermere Valley, stunning mountain views and two lakes, Buttermere and Crummock Water.
